Stephen Vodantis joined the RCD in October 2006.  As Education Supervisor, he oversees a professional staff of 25-30 environmental educators and manages all Education Department activities.

The Education Department conducts as many as a hundred programs in a twelve-month period at various sites in the region of the Santa Monica Mountains.  All school programs are aligned with California State curriculum standards and benefit thousands of local students every year.

Since joining the RCD, he has worked to expand and enhance the curriculum-based programs for grades K-12, and the environmental educator training program for adults.

Prior to joining the RCD, he worked for many years in the organic food industry, and before that, as an instructor in ancient cultures and language.  He has a BA from UC Berkeley and an MA from UC Santa Barbara.
