Classroom Programs
The classroom programs designed by the Resource Conservation District of the Santa Monica Mountains feature interdisciplinary, activity-oriented science classes which complement your school’s science programs. District education staff arrive at your school ready to teach each one hour class. All lesson materials, curriculum and follow up activities are provided in each fee-for-service program. Many lesson make use of discovery tools such as microscopes, hand lenses, and both live and taxidermied animal specimens.
Each program is designed to mentor teachers so that they are enabled to teach the demonstrated lesson to subsequent classes. Please note that although schools may select fewer than four programs per day, the four-program maximum option is the most cost-effective.
