The RCD Education Department is pleased to announce the award of a recent grant from the Havasi Wilderness Foundation.  We are honored to receive this donation, and look forward to all the programs it will support.

The grant is designed to subsidize the cost of transportation for schools scheduling education programs at Malibu Lagoon State Beach and Topanga State Park during school year 2010-11.

Funding will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis according to the following guidelines:

• Public schools in need (especially Title 1)
• Transportation by bus to RCD programs at MLSB or TSP
• One subsidy per school per site
• Programs of at least 40 students in 4 groups

Applying for this subsidy is easy.  First find an available date on the Education Calendar.  (Remember to leave enough time to schedule your transportation.)  Then fill out the  Program Reservation Form.  Use the "Program Notes" window at the bottom to indicate that your school qualifies for the subsidy and you wish to be considered.

Your reservation will be processed and confirmed via email as quickly as possible.  Once you receive confirmation, please remember to schedule transportation for the event at your earliest convenience.  (The RCD has no transportation system of its own.)  When your school receives the transportation bill, fax a copy to our office and we will reimburse the cost up to a fixed amount.
